At Pager, the driving force behind everything we do is our employees. Pager team members are mission-driven and critically focused on what they can do to help individuals improve their health and make better decisions. We’re proud to have a team of unique individuals who bring different strengths, perspectives, and interests to our organization.

In this series, we spotlight an employee who is dedicated to helping improve the lives of the patients we reach every day to learn more about the work they do and what drives them. In this edition, we spoke with Tyra Abraham, MSN, RN, a Pager Senior Nurse Navigator.

Tell us about yourself. Who are you, and what is your role at Pager?

I’m Nurse Tyra! I hold a master’s degree in nursing with a concentration in leadership and management. I am a wife, a mom, a blogger, and so much more. My title at Pager is Senior Nurse Navigator.

As a registered nurse (RN) working in the Command Center, I perform triage for patients with health-related concerns and issues. Through assessments and education, I assist patients in navigating towards the best, most appropriate route of care.

I am a member of the Culture Committee, and I joined Pager as a Nurse Navigator and was promoted to Senior Nurse Navigator in November 2020. As a practicing professional, I enjoy creating and revising policies, protocols, and workflows that promote improved systems and practices.

What drives you? What are some of the goals you're working towards?

I am driven by passion – I am super passionate about people. I’m driven by fairness, honesty, and the desire to simply do what’s right. I have been praised in the past for advocating for my team and co-workers. I am driven by the potential of success, by my family, and by purpose.

My list of goals has grown over the past few months! I love to challenge myself and acquire new skills as well as discover unknown abilities I may possess. Presently, I am motivated to advance my personal development through self-care and self-discovery. In relevance to Pager, I am working towards career advancement; moving into leadership roles to inspire and impact change within the company and for the patients to whom we deliver care.

What excites you? Are there any current projects, challenges, and/or opportunities here at Pager that are particularly interesting to you?

I am excited about new opportunities in the Pager pipeline for 2021. I make efforts to remain ready for challenges and I’ve worked diligently to embrace change with minimal frustration. More specifically, I am eager for new leadership positions to come in the Command Center. I’m currently working on multiple projects related to helping team members grow and gain new skills within Pager. My interests are to develop and implement initiatives to enhance nursing workflows and improve patient outcomes. I enjoy coordinating and collaborating with committee members and co-workers to help boost Pager’s culture and success.

Thank you, Tyra, for all that you do! Stay tuned for more in our People Power Pager series to learn about more individuals who are making an impact within our organization and on patient health.
