Pager Welcomes Mark Wagar to Advisory Board

NEW YORK – June 19, 2019– Pager, a digital health company that connects consumers with the experts they need to make the right health care decisions, today announced that Mark Wagar, President of Heritage Medical Systems, an affiliate of the Heritage Provider Network, has joined the company’s advisory board.

“Enabling the consumer to easily connect and collaborate with physicians and other providers and payers has been a missing piece of the health, care and cost puzzle for too long,” said Mark Wagar. “Pager brings consumers a needed digital age opportunity that can help make healthcare access timely and easy for them”.

Mr. Wagar previously served as president and CEO of Empire BlueCross BlueShield, New York's largest health insurer. He has also served as senior vice president at WellPoint Inc. and has held executive leadership roles in hospitals and other healthcare organizations. Wagar currently sits on the board of directors of the New York Academy of Medicine and TurningPoint.

As a member of Pager’s advisory board, Mr. Wagar will provide both business leadership and value based care counsel to the company as it continues to grow and collaborate with more leading healthcare organizations to deliver seamless, tech-enabled services and solutions.

“Mark is a true leader who’s proven track record of leading health plans and successfully managing risk with provider organizations is going to be a huge asset to the Pager team. His decades of experience heading up complex healthcare organizations will better enable Pager to forge new and deeper relationships with payers, hospitals, healthcare technology partners and ultimately the many patients we serve everyday,” said Walter Jin, Chairman and CEO of Pager.
